Meet Greg McMillan

For more than five decades, Gregory K. McMillan has been one of the world's most respected authorities on process control, dynamic simulation, operator training, and process automation. His work has helped shape the way engineers design, operate, and optimize industrial facilities across the chemical, refining, energy, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and manufacturing industries.

Greg retired as a Senior Fellow at Solutia Inc. in 2002 and later concluded his distinguished career as a Senior Principal Software Engineer in Emerson's Process Systems & Solutions Simulation R&D organization in 2023. Throughout his career, he has bridged the gap between theory and practice, helping thousands of engineers solve complex real-world process challenges.

An ISA Fellow, Greg is internationally recognized for his extraordinary contributions to the profession. He has authored more than 20 books, 200+ technical articles and papers, 200+ monthly columns, 100+ expert Q&A publications, and 80+ technical blogs, making him one of the most prolific educators in the history of process automation.

His contributions have been recognized with many of the industry's highest honors, including induction into Control Magazine's Process Automation Hall of Fame in 2001, the ISA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, the ISA Mentor Award in 2020, and the ISA Standards Achievement Award in 2023.

This special presentation offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the industry's most influential thought leaders as he shares decades of practical experience, lessons learned, and his vision for how dynamic simulation, digital twins, and modern engineering practices are transforming the future of industrial operations.
